The “Big Water Pipes”上水大水管

Have you ever stunned by the “Big Water Pipes” that is parallel to the Lo Wu train rail? In fact, Hong Kong has been importing water from the East River. These water pipes are used for transporting water from the East River to Hong Kong for consumption. Nowadays, the “Big Water Pipes” is the hidden check-in photo spot for the photography lover.

How to go to the “Big Water Pipes”?

1. By public transport

Take the Green minibus route 51K from the Landmark North minibus terminus (Sheung Shui Station exit A3 or D1) to Ho Sheung Heung minibus terminus. After taking off the minibus, walk along the Beas River for 15 mins to the “Big Water Pipes”.

Or

2. By bicycle

Rent a bike in the Sheung Shui cycling park, heading north-west to the Beas River and ride along the right side of the Beas River for 1km to the “Big Water Pipes”. Total cycling distance around 2.5km.

Recommendation:

There is a soybean factory near the Beas River, you may pay a visit for the all-you-can-eat tofu pudding and soy milk together with your visit to the “Big Water Pipes”. (The soybean factory will be introduced to you later in another article)

相信大家乘搭火車(或者港鐵)去羅湖嘅時候，望出車窗外，定會見過呢幾條長水管， 其實佢地係輸送由大陸落嚟嘅東江水。大水管嘅位置風景怡人，吸引唔少人嚟「打卡」影相㗎!

「大水管」點樣去? 1. 公共交通 上水鐵路站A3 或D1 出口，步行約5分鐵到上水廣場地下的小巴總站，乘搭51K專線小巴，到河上鄉總站，沿雙魚河行約15分鐘即可。 或 2. 單車 於上水單車匯合中心租單車，向西北方向沿著彩園路一直踩到雙魚河，再沿雙魚河的右邊一直踩約1公里即可到達。 總距離約2.5公里

建議玩樂方式: 雙魚河附近有荳品廠，可以任食豆腐花/豆漿，可以前往大水管時順道經過品嘗美食。 (荳品廠日後另作介紹)
